Who it’s for

Built for the bay, not the mall.

Daily, SQ, SPL, and installers share the same garage. The goal changes scoring and coach tone. The math does not.

Daily

Clean, reliable bass without cooking the charging system. Know the current draw before you add another amp.

SQ

Staging, DSP, time alignment, deadening. The cheap wins get ranked before the expensive ones.

SPL / Comp

Voltage, boxes, measured dB. Health rings and measurements live next to the parts list, not in a notes app.

Installer

Capture, inventory, and calculators with no signal. Voice, barcode, plate shot. Hands can stay dirty.

Permanent pillars

Six things that do not ship as vapor.

01

Digital garage

Vehicles, systems, and every component you actually own. If it isn’t in the garage, the coach is guessing.

02

Fast capture

Barcode, badge photo, serial, paste-a-listing, or say it. Review the draft and the confidence before it lands.

03

Honest math

Box, final Z, power match, Big 3, wire gauge, tones. On-device. No network required.

04

Next Best Move

Ranked against your voltage, your RMS, your goal. Upgrade, maintenance, tuning, or safety.

05

Hardware rack

The plugin layer is built. Radios bolt on. We do not claim every DSP talks today.

06

Path, labeled

Twin, AR, predictive health, community, competition. Coming work is marked Coming. Live work is marked Live.

Garage Live

If it isn’t in the garage, the coach is guessing.

Log the vehicles you actually drive. The systems you actually run. The parts that are actually bolted in.

Multiple systems per vehicle — daily and the weekend lid. Goals change scoring: SPL, SQ, Daily, Competition. Health is 0–100 with Electrical, Thermal, Acoustic, Mechanical. Bands: Strong / Solid / Watch / At risk.

  • Year, make, model, trim, notes, photo. Add, edit, delete.
  • Component metadata: category, brand, model, serial, UPC, dates, warranty, location, RMS, max, impedance, channels, T/S, custom fields.
  • Categories from head unit through DSP, amp, speaker, sub, battery, cap, block, wiring, enclosure, processor.
  • Visual signal chain: source → processing → amplification → load.
  • Measurements log: voltage, current, temperature, impedance, SPL, RTA, frequency, THD, power. Manual, hardware, or calculated.
  • Seeded first launch so the app is never a blank spreadsheet.

Capture Live

Barcode, plate shot, serial, or say it.

Hands can stay dirty. The bay does not have to have signal.

  • Vision barcode / QR scanner.
  • Photo of a badge or silkscreen → on-device OCR → identification.
  • Manual serial, UPC, or paste a listing.
  • Voice capture for brand, model, serial.
  • Review draft with a confidence percent before it hits the garage.
  • Catalog hit when the UPC is known. Otherwise a stub you confirm.
  • Photos stay on-device until OCR text exists. Only anonymized text can go to AI.
Add component form with category, brand, model, serial, UPC, location, and RMS fields.

Tools Live

Box math, final Z, Big 3, wire gauge, tones.

On-device. No signal required. The numbers stay honest when the bay has no bars.

Enclosure

Sealed target Qtc and ported starting alignments from T/S — Fs, Qts, Vas.

Fs 32.4 Hz Qts 0.51 Vas 42.1 L

Impedance

SVC / DVC / TVC / QVC. Series, parallel, series-parallel. Stability warning under 1 Ω.

2 Ω DVC Pair // → 1.10 Ω

Electrical

Amp RMS vs driver RMS. Current at 13.8 V. Alternator headroom. CCA ballpark. Big 3. Ohm’s law. Wire gauge from current + one-way run + drop.

13.8 V 80 A · 17 ft

Tone / RTA

Sine generator, 20–200 Hz typical use, amplitude control. Basic FFT RTA — uncalibrated, and the app says so.

Electrical honesty

Voltage is the limiter more often than cone area.

The app says that out loud. Idle can look healthy while a 12.18 V burst tells you the charging system is already on its knees.

Coach Live

Next Best Move, grounded in what you actually have.

Ranked against your voltage, your RMS, your goal. Not a generic upgrade list.

Coach consumes the real garage: vehicle, system goal, components, measurements, signal chain. It ranks 3–6 moves — Upgrade, Maintenance, Tuning, Safety — with Low / Medium / High / Critical and estimated cost when known. Mark done or dismiss.

  • Natural-language questions. “What should I upgrade next for more midbass?”
  • Build review / roast: honest, funny, never cruel.
  • Health explained in installer language.
  • AI via OpenRouter when a key and network exist.
  • Automatic fallback to an on-device rule engine when offline, rate-limited, or no key.
  • AI payloads are anonymized. No serials, no UPCs, no owner notes.

Twin Live AR later

A digital twin of the bay.

A living schematic of the chain. DNA you can share. AR later, not vapor now.

System DNA is a fingerprint of the full system — a short shareable code plus a summary. The schematic is the current signal chain. On iOS 18+ a 3D RealityKit scene is available. Telemetry from registered hardware lands in the garage.

  • Share DNA through the system share sheet.
  • Extension points exist for AR install overlays and full acoustic simulation. Those are not shipping.
  • Community lives here for now: a public catalog browser and shared builds keyed on DNA.
  • Your inventory never goes public unless you share DNA or a build.

How it works

Capture. Score. Calculate. Rank.

Put the bay in the garage

Add the vehicle. Name the system. Scan or speak the parts. Confirm the draft. Empty states push you to capture owned gear, not browse a store.

See the chain and the score

Source → DSP → amp → load. Health 0–100 with a breakdown you can argue with. Measurements sit under the parts, dated.

Run the math on-device

Box, final Z, power match, electrical load, wire gauge, tones. Prefill from the primary system when the numbers already live in the garage.

Ask for the Next Best Move

Coach ranks against this system. Online with a key, it can talk. Offline, the rule engine still ranks. Either way the inventory stays yours.

Share DNA if you want

The fingerprint is shareable. The garage is not. Future battles and leaderboards key on DNA plus measured SPL — never marketing claims.

Hardware Rack ready

The rack is built. Radios bolt on.

Do not hear “works with every DSP today.” Hear: discover, connect, fetch telemetry, apply settings later — without rewriting Garage, Coach, or Twin.

  • Plugin architecture: discover / connect / disconnect.
  • Telemetry writes measurements into the garage.
  • Null radio in production. Mock bench radio in debug.
  • Future Bluetooth DSPs, amps, and clamp meters drop in as providers.
  • Adding a DSP brand is a hardware plugin, not a rewrite of the product.
Settings

The shop, the key, the sync.

Display name, shop name, default goal. Units in °F/°C and ft³/L. OpenRouter key in Keychain — never CloudKit. Model picker defaults to a free/cheap Llama 3.3 70B and is switchable. Toggle AI network vs rules-only. iCloud account and sync status. Hardware provider list. Reload the sample garage for demos.

Settings identity and OpenRouter key stored in Keychain, with AI network toggles.
CloudKit container iCloud.com.bassheados.app synced, hardware providers, units, and reload sample garage.

Ownership

You own your data. That is a design constraint.

Not a slogan. The core experience does not require a third-party backend.

Offline-first

Airplane mode

Garage and calculators work with the radio off. Coach falls back to the rule engine. Tools never phone home to compute Qtc.

CloudKit

Private database

Inventory lives in the user’s Private iCloud database. Photos are assets, not dumped into records.

Keychain

Keys stay keys

OpenRouter API keys live in Keychain only. They never ride along in CloudKit records.

Optional AI

No key, no leak

No key = rule engine. Offline = rule engine. When AI runs, payloads are anonymized: no serials, no UPCs, no owner notes.

Agnostic

No house brand

Brand-agnostic by architecture. A new DSP is a plugin. Garage, Coach, and Twin do not get rewritten to sell a catalog.

Photos

OCR, then silence

Capture photos stay on-device until text exists. Only anonymized text can leave the phone.

Community Shell

A catalog and shared DNA. Not a social network.

Be honest: this is a shell. You can browse a public component catalog, share a build keyed on System DNA, and send that DNA through the share sheet. Battles and leaderboards are coming — keyed on DNA plus measured SPL, never marketing claims. User inventory stays private unless you share.

What this is not

  • Not a store.
  • Not a brand catalog.
  • Not “AI that shops for you.”
  • Not social-media first.
  • Not a rewrite of Crutchfield.

Roadmap Coming

Labeled coming. Not sold as live.

  • Coming Live continuous telemetry from real Bluetooth DSPs.
  • Coming Predictive failure and health models.
  • Coming Full acoustic / transfer-function box simulation.
  • Coming Calibrated A-weighted RTA + mic correction.
  • Coming AR install guides over the real cabin.
  • Coming Competition battles + leaderboards.
  • Coming Community manufacturer-verified catalog at scale.
  • Coming On-device speech model for noisy bays.
